Qualifications

• At least 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• State-required phlebotomy certification where applicable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform Phlebotomy on all ages, including hard sticks and needles.
• Draw blood using straight or butterfly needles.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection clearly to patients.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per procedures.
• Match requisition forms to tubes and verify test requests for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.
• Data entry and processing, updating patient information and maintenance data.
• Follow decontamination procedures and comply with physicians' orders.
• Occasionally work at another Manassas location as needed.

Overview

A healthcare services organization is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join its laboratory team in Manassas, VA on a contract basis for a projected duration of 3 months, with potential for permanent placement. This role is essential to ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing that supports patient care and diagnostic testing.

What you'll do

• Perform Phlebotomy on all ages, including Hard sticks and needles
• Draw blood using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients
• Collect, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to established procedures
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify all test requisitions against scripts for accuracy
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures
• Perform Data Entry and processing, including updating patient information and recording maintenance data
• Follow decontamination procedures
• Fully understand and follow physicians' orders
• Occasionally work at another location in Manassas as needed

Required qualifications
