St. Elizabeth HealthCare is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for the 3rd shift at the Fort Thomas location. The role involves performing venipunctures, collecting arterial and capillary specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry in the hospital information system.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Valid Driver's License/Meet Medical Centers Insurance requirement for applicable locations (drive a laboratory vehicle).
• Specialized knowledge: Computer literate.
• Phlebotomy required for 3rd shift.
• Experience including customer service.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
• Safely and accurately performs venipunctures, arterial and capillary specimen collections as requested in adults, children and infants.
• Interprets physician orders and ensures requests are processed in the information system.
• Completes all required compliance processes.
• Greets patients using the AIDET (PHLEBOT) model, provides instructions and directions for quality patient experiences.
• Collects specimens for laboratory testing and ensures proper handling and lab computer system data entry.
• Cleans, organizes, stocks phlebotomy areas and maintains a safe environment.
• Attends in-services for professional growth and development.
• Implements ICARE principles to promote quality patient care and a productive environment.
