DEPT: Laboratory

LOCATION: Maury Regional Medical Center - Columbia, TN

SHIFT: Weekend Plan. Friday - Sunday, 7pm - 7:30am

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs laboratory specimen processing consisting of collecting, receiving, identifying, labeling, sorting, preparation and internal laboratory distribution of blood, urine, and other biological specimens. Individual responds to inquiries concerning patient reports, reference ranges, specimen requirements, procedures, time required for tests, and preparation of specimens to outside labs for analysis. Phlebotomist are responsible for ensuring laboratory specimens are drawn and analyzed according to established standards of care while using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Current and Valid Driver's License in TN Required

* High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

* Completed Course in/as Phlebotomy Program Preferred

* 1 Year of Related Experience Preferred
