When you join the growing BILH team, you’re not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. Under supervision of the Site Manager, you will be responsible for drawing pediatric, adult and geriatric patients via venipuncture and finger sticks, performing waived testing of blood and urine specimens, and carrying out routine clerical duties in preparation for laboratory processing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture and finger stick phlebotomy; spin blood and prepare specimens in a timely manner for courier pickup/laboratory testing.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis; collect urine and throat culture specimens and prepare for submission to the Laboratory.
• Perform urine pregnancy tests and stool hematests.
• Conduct testing such as electrocardiograms, spirometry, Holter monitor, vision and hearing tests.
• Perform housekeeping, handle hazardous waste, and keep laboratory area fully stocked.
• Document and process encounter forms, lab requisitions, and all necessary paperwork for third‑party billing.
• Label tubes and samples, process and prepare labs and routine tests for pickup and delivery to Central Lab Provider.
• Maintain log sheets for documentation of incoming and outgoing specimens.
• Verbally report lab results to providers, and deliver appropriate lab results reports when received from central laboratory.
• Perform other related duties including data entry into laboratory computer and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of phlebotomy experience.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or agreement to obtain within one year of hire.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $21.00 – $28.26 per hour (base hourly wage). Additional compensation may be awarded based on seniority, education, training, experience, and other permissible factors.

Signing Bonus: Up to $5,000, paid in two installments of $2,500 (after 6 months and after 12 months of hire). Bonus subject to applicable taxes and eligibility conditions.
