Job summary

FMOL Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking an entry-level Phlebotomist I to draw and collect blood samples from patients and verify records. You will prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and perform all pre-analytical tasks under established guidelines.

You should have a High School diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy, MLA or MA program (or be certification-eligible). Prior hospital experience is not required, and excellent customer service skills are essential

The Phlebotomist 1 draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Performs all pre-analytical functions. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Develops a complete understanding of specimen collection and handling in order to preserve specimen validity and integrity. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks and works under close supervision. Must have excellent customer service skills.

Experience - Entry-level with no current hospital experience OR Previous experience is more than 1 year in the past
Education - High School diploma or equivalent
Training - Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy, MLA or MA program (or equivalent) OR Certification-eligible as a Phlebotomist, MLA or MA
