Job summary

United Health Services in New York’s Southern Tier is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform inpatient and off-site draws, test order entry, and venipuncture with a patient‑focused approach. The role rotates across PAT and hospital settings, including Skilled Nursing Facility and PreAdmission Testing.

Daily shift is day rotational with 24 hours per week. Minimum high school diploma; phlebotomy training or MOA training preferred, plus a few months of phlebotomy experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training or MOA training preferred.
• 3 months phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of lab test order entry and specimen processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient venipuncture and OPD venipuncture.
• Rotational coverage for off-site locations (e.g., Skilled Nursing Facility, PAT).
• Performs tasks such as Test Order Entry, Stock Rotation, and nursing home draws.

Position Overview

Performs daily activities of the Support Services Department. Functions as a Phlebotomist fulfilling assignments on a rotational basis within the institution and external off-site coverage (I.e. Skilled Nursing Facility, PreAdmission Testing). Performs tasks such as Test Order Entry, Inpatient Venipuncture, OPD Venipuncture, Stock Rotation and Nursing Home draws. (If covering PAT, ability to perform EKG's is required). Responds and interacts with patients and customers in a courteous and professional manner, embracing the concepts and ideals of Service Excellence.

Compensation Range:

$19.37 - $28.09 per hour, depending on experience

Minimum Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Completed Phlebotomy Training Program OR other MOA training;
• 3 months' phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting;
• knowledge of patient registration and lab test order entry;
• knowledge of laboratory specimen processing procedures
