Job summary

Ardent in Topeka, KS is seeking a day-shift, full-time Phlebotomist to join our hospital-affiliated laboratory team.

You will perform venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection, and specimen culture collection, while upholding quality and patient-centered care in a clinical setting. Certifications from NHA, ASCP, AMT, NCCT, or ACA are required; 5+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals.
• Certification from a nationally recognized agency (NHA CPT, ASCP PBT, AMT RPT, NCCT NCPT, ACA CPT).
• Hospital LIS skills and strong customer service skills.
• Experience working in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• The Phlebotomist conducts specimen collection techniques including venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection, and specimen culture collection as part of laboratory duties.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
• Certification from a nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • National Healthcareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA).
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP).
  • American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT).
  • National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT).
