Ardent is hiring a Phlebotomist for the night shift in Topeka, KS. The role involves specimen collection techniques including venipuncture, capillary draws, and urine/culture collection while maintaining patient safety and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completed phlebotomy training with clinicals or relevant experience, national certification, and strong hospital lab skills with customer service experience. 5+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or relevant phlebotomy experience.
• Certification from a nationally recognized agency (NHA CPT, ASCP PBT, AMT RPT, NCCT NCPT, ACA CPT).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

The Phlebotomist functions as a laboratory professional who performs specimen collection techniques or specimen collection instructions that include: venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
• Certification from a nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • National Heathcareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA).
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP).
  • American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT).
  • National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT).
  • American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (ACA).
• Hospital Lab information system skills and strong customer service skills.
• Experience working in the clinical setting.

Preferred Job Requirements.
