Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood samples across all ages, using established procedures and safety devices while ensuring accurate specimen ID and integrity.

Key responsibilities include reporting results to clients by charting, telephone, fax or computer; supporting daily billing operations and clerical duties in the lab; maintaining centrifuge and inventory, and assisting the Section Head and other Laboratory staff as needed.

Qualifications

• No formal experience required; 1 year phlebotomy preferred.
• TMH vehicle operation requires valid state driver license.

Responsabilités

• Performs phlebotomy on all age and acuity levels using established procedures and safety devices; ensure accurate specimen identification and integrity.
• Responsible for ensuring that all aliquoting and separation is done with precision and accuracy on a timely basis; must be able to determine appropriateness of specimens received.
• Responsible for reporting patient results to the appropriate client by charting, telephone, fax, modem or computer.
• Daily billing operations, receptionist and general clerical duties for the laboratory; operates and maintains centrifuge; maintains inventory of supplies.
• Assists Section Head and other Laboratory staff as needed.

Qualifications

DAY SHIFT MONDAY - FRIDAY 8-5 NO WEEKEND OR HOLIDAYS!

Required Education:

High School graduate or equivalent

Required Experience:

No training or experience required. One (1) year of job-related experience (including phlebotomy) preferred

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Incumbent operates a TMH vehicle and requires a valid state driver license. Required to be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and with a minimum of two (2) years of licensed driving experience. Required to provide a seven (7)- year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) prior to employment. Will have received no more than two (2) minor violations in the past three (3) years and zero (0) major violations in the past five (5) years

Behavioral Criteria: Responsible for daily billing operations, responsible for sending specimens to and receiving results from reference laboratories, professionally answers phones, provides reception and general clerical duties for the laboratory; performs routine centrifuge maintenance and inventory of supplies, provides assistance and information to outreach locations; assists Section Head and other Laboratory staff as needed.

Med Lab Section Head, Phlebotomist/Lead, and Senior Med Tech.
