**Phlebotomist (Pool) - PRN ROLE**

The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining satisfactory blood specimens and assisting in routine analysis by performing clerical, computer, and limited technical duties. Incumbent is subject to weekends, holidays, and on-call duty as assigned.

Qualifications

• License or Certification: Phlebotomy registered (American Society of Clinical Pathologists or other accepting certifying agency) preferred. CPR certification.
• Total Education, Vocational Training, and Experience: Phlebotomy training course completion; Basic computer skills.
• Machines, Equipment Used: General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, computer; Standard and specialty laboratory equipment and machines.
• Physical Requirements: Good visual acuity and communication abilities; ability to lift up to 30 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds; ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch; manual dexterity; ability to ambulate; ability to recognize colors.
• Skills and Abilities: Effective communication; coordination, analysis, decision-making; ability to work independently.
• Environmental Conditions: Indoor, temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment; occasional outdoor exposure; potential exposure to blood and body fluids; handicapped accessible; may work under stress.
