Job summary

Labcorp in Plano, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm with potential overtime and rotating Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities include blood collection by venipuncture, specimen processing, accurate data entry, and providing excellent patient service. Prior Labcorp experience and phlebotomy certification are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years phlebotomy experience in clinical/hospital environment.
• 1+ years experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric).
• Current or prior LabCorp experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training acceptable in lieu of work experience.

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
