Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to work at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. The role involves performing blood collections, processing specimens, and maintaining accurate patient information, with a Wednesday-Saturday midnight shift at the Pensacola site.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred Phlebotomy certification and 3+ months of phlebotomy experience, preferably at Labcorp. Excellent customer service and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program preferred.
• 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• 3 months of phlebotomist experience at Labcorp preferred.
• In lieu of work experience, certification/training from an accredited agency accepted.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed; valid driving record if applicable.
• Able to pass color blindness screening.

Work Schedule

Wednesday-Saturday midnight-10:30AM

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
• 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist at Labcorp

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled towork a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
