Job summary

Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and related procedures under the guidance of the Unit Supervisor. The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year of phlebotomy experience, including pediatrics venipuncture and micro-collection, with a HS diploma or GED.

Certification in Phlebotomy, Nursing or Medical Assistant is preferred. The position offers a starting rate of $18.00 per hour, with a schedule of 4a-4:30p on weekdays and alternating

Job Details

Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Unit Supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department of Pathology.

Experience: 6 months to 1 year phlebotomy experience including pediatrics venipuncture and micro-collection.

Education: High School graduate or GED required

Required License / Credentials: Phlebotomy, Nursing or Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Other Required Skills: Excellent customer relations skills; math, verbal, and written skills at high school level.

Contact With Others: Regular internal and /or external contacts involving considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion in order to obtain information and/or willing action or consent where it would otherwise be difficult to obtain.

Supervision Given: Periodically take ‘lead’ responsibilities on a rotating basis.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision in performing routine assignments, referring unusual or more difficult situations to immediate supervisor or designee.

Bi-Weekly Hours: 80

Work Schedule: 4a-4:30p weekdays & alternating weekends

The minimum starting rate for this position is $18.00
