A typical day for a Phlebotomist may include:


  • Collecting blood and other laboratory specimens from both inpatient and outpatient populations using established phlebotomy techniques.

  • Accurately identifying, labeling, processing, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity.

  • Ensuring all specimens are handled according to laboratory standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

  • Providing compassionate, professional patient interactions while helping patients feel comfortable throughout the specimen collection process.

  • Verifying patient identification and following established procedures to promote patient safety and accurate testing.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring timely transport of specimens to the laboratory for analysis.

  • Collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, laboratory staff, and other members of the healthcare team to support efficient patient care.

  • Scheduling: Part Time (PT), Day shift from 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

  • Must be available to work every other weekend and rotating holidays as required.
