Job summary

Loyola Medicine at MacNeal Hospital is hiring a Phlebotomist for the day shift. You will collect quality biological samples for lab testing across all ages and perform ECGs for cardiology interpretation while upholding care, concern, respect, and cooperation.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and less than one year of related experience; CPR (AHA) and phlebotomy certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with on-the-job training acceptable.
• Less than one year of previous job-related experience.
• CPR certification (AHA) and phlebotomy certification from listed agencies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect quality biological samples for laboratory testing across pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) for cardiology interpretation.

**One year or more phlebotomy work experience**

Full-time (8:30am-5:00pm)

Monday thru Friday - rotating Saturday (6:00am-12:00pm)

About the job

In this role, the Phlebotomist uses approved techniques to collect quality biological samples for laboratory testing from all patient populations (pediatric through geriatric); and performs electrocardiograms (EKG's) for cardiology interpretation, all while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation.

Here is what you will need

Required:

• High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

• Less than one year of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications

Preferred:

• CPR- American Heart Association (AHA)

• Phlebotomy certification - Certifying agencies: ASPT – American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, NCCT- National Center for Competency Testing, NHA – National Healthcare Association (CPT), NPA – National Phlebotomy Association

Compensation:

Pay Range: $ 16.70 - 25.53 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
