Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a phlebotomist to perform blood collection and specimen handling with strict adherence to venipuncture procedures and logging. The role includes labeling, delivering specimens to processing, and supporting centrifugation and packaging tasks.

Collaboration with the lab team is essential for accuracy and timeliness. Preferred candidates hold a formal phlebotomy certification or completed an accredited program with clinical externship, and they will aid in pickup and delivery

Qualifications

• Proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and practices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving in a team setting
• Formal Phlebotomy Certification preferred
• Accredited phlebotomy program graduate with clinical rotation/externship preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures
• Follow venipuncture procedures and maintain appropriate log sheets
• Verify order requests and identify information prior to drawing blood or collecting the specimen/kit
• Label all specimens collected and deliver them to the appropriate processing area
• Perform specimen processing and send out tasks, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging
• Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and lab supplies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical proficiency with standard procedures, techniques and common practices
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a team environment
• Formal Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
• Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program with a clinical rotation/externship (Preferred)
