Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients of all age groups in a timely and accurate manner using appropriate venous, arterial, or capillary techniques.
• Follow all related policies and procedures strictly during specimen collection.
• Maintain professional behavior and technical skills, demonstrating excellent customer service.
• Prioritize and organize blood and diagnostic specimen collection based on testing criteria with minimal supervision.
• Accurately identify patients using two identifiers, label and accession specimens correctly, and record data neatly and accurately.
• Follow established laboratory protocols for specimen collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a certified phlebotomy course preferred but not required.
• Previous experience or training not required.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
