Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a casual/PRN phlebotomist in the Phoenix area to perform blood collection via venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all ages. You will handle specimen collection, data entry, and basic billing tasks while providing compassionate, accurate service at multiple sites.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of phlebotomy experience (preferred), and a valid phlebotomy certification or accredited training.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience as a phlebotomist (preferred).
  • Phlebotomy certification or trained program from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Enter patient information accurately in the system.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs of patient and specimen data.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  • Travel to additional sites when required.

Work Schedule

This is a casual/PRN position; hours will be "as needed" but the start and end times will vary from Monday - Saturday 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysisMaintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • Current or Prior Labcorp experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Float Incentive

Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement.

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
