Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and specimen processing across assigned areas. The role also involves answering department calls, inventory management and receiving supplies.

When acting as a Laboratory Assistant, the incumbent coordinates collections among phlebotomists and prepares samples for testing and reference lab work.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood collection procedures within areas of competency. The job includes receiving and processing laboratory specimens, answering department phone calls, inventory management, and receiving supplies. When acting as a Laboratory Assistant, in addition to Phlebotomist duties, the individual is responsible for coordinating collections among phlebotomists and preparing and processing samples for testing and reference lab testing.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED required; formal phlebotomy training preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: None required.
• Experience: One year of hospital experience preferred.
