Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC is seeking a Phlebotomist for full-time days with rotating weekends to support the Laboratory department.

You will collect blood samples, process specimens, register patient samples in LIS, and assist with quality control and inventory. Training or certification in phlebotomy is required, with opportunities within a large hospital system.

Qualifications

• Training and Certification in Phlebotomy or prior phlebotomy experience is required.

• Assists in the technical and clerical aspects of the Laboratory department.
• Manages collection, acceptance, receipt and processing of all specimens into the Laboratory department(s).
• Attend to samples received through pneumatic tube stations.
• Performs specimen collection (i.e. venipuncture, capillary puncture).
• Complete computerized registration of patient samples using Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Complete basic quality control steps (i.e. sterility testing, new lot qualification). Perform reagent and disposable inventory management tasks.
