CompuNet Clinical Laboratories, LLC is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to collect and process specimens at Patient Service Centers in Beavercreek, Fairborn, Huber Heights, Kettering, Xenia and Springfield.

The role is Full-Time Day Shift (7:30 AM–5:00 PM) with Weekend Rotation; responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, PCR swabs, and POCT testing using Sunquest 8.1. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Recent phlebotomy training or experience; at least 100 venipunctures.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures per PSC policy with high accuracy.
• Collect specimens across age groups; proficient in urine drug screen collection.
• Complete requisitions accurately and adhere to procedures.
• Ensure correct patient identification and specimen processing.
• Label, prepare, and transport specimens for testing.
• Verify billing information for accuracy.
• Perform PCR nasopharyngeal swabs and POCT testing.
• Maintain specimen storage temps and batch for transport.
• Troubleshoot draw, order, and specimen issues as needed.
• Operate and maintain departmental equipment; ensure functionality.
• Provide courteous customer service and effective communication.
• Conduct inventory and replenish supplies; assist in staff training.
• Adhere to safety, PPE, and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Float Phlebotomist located at our Patient Service Centers in Beavercreek, Fairborn, Huber Heights, Kettering, Xenia and Springfield.

Full-Time Day Shift (7:30 AM to 5:00 PM) with Weekend Rotation

Position Summary:

The Phlebotomists/Processor collects, and processes laboratory specimens in Sunquest.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure venipuncture and capillary punctures align with PSC policy with high accuracy.
• Gather specimens across all age groups, proficient in urine drug screen collection.
• Complete requisitions accurately, adhering to Patient Services procedures.
• Properly handle patient identification and specimen processing.
• Label and prepare specimens correctly for testing.
• Verify billing information for accuracy.
• Skilled in collecting PCR nasopharyngeal swabs and performing POCT testing.
• Retrieve, process, and store specimens as per protocol.
• Utilize Sunquest 8.1 for Specimen Receipt and Decant functions.
• Maintain appropriate specimen storage temperatures and prepare batches for transport.
• Manage order and specimen flow within the PSC/IOP.
• Assist in troubleshooting patient draw, order, and specimen issues.
• Operate and maintain departmental equipment, ensuring functionality.
• Communicate effectively and courteously, prioritizing customer service.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and replenish supplies as needed.
• Assist in training new staff members.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies.
• Perform other job duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have recent phlebotomy training or experience, with at least 100 venipunctures completed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.
• Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies.
• Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas.
