Philly311 is the City’s non-emergency contact system. Residents, businesses, and visitors access information and services through the Philly311 call center, website, and mobile application. Philly311 strives to improve the quality of life for Philadelphians by providing exceptional customer service via each communication channel, delivering accurate information and timely updates. Philly311 is considered a critical service and therefore is staffed during times when the city is closed and acts as a crucial point of contact for constituents to obtain information regarding city services.Philly311 handled approximately 400,000 phone calls and received over 170,000 inquiries via the Philly311 mobile app, web application, and email in 2024. The center employees 32 civil service agents and 4 supervisors.
Position Summary
The Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of community outreach activities. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of outreach programs and maintaining effective communication with community members, partners, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about community service and able to attend 75% of scheduled community events.
Essential Functions
The Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for fostering relationships between the City of Philadelphia and the communities it serves. This role involves outreach, program development, partnership building, and effective communication to promote community involvement and support the City of Philadelphia goals.

Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000
