Through philanthropy, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, government funding opportunities, and community engagement, we help secure the resources that strengthen and expand behavioral healthcare across Memphis and Shelby County.
Position Summary
The Philanthropy Events Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the development goals of The Alliance Foundation by building community and corporate relationships, coordinating fundraising and philanthropic events, and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals and organizations to engage with and invest in our mission.
Reporting directly to the Director of Development and Marketing, this position helps grow the Foundation’s pipeline of prospective donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners while coordinating the events, tours, communications, and engagement experiences that move relationships from awareness to involvement and philanthropic support.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, community engagement, corporate relations, special events, marketing, or a related field. Experience within a nonprofit healthcare system or philanthropic foundation is a plus.
Development & Relationship Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community and corporate partners.
Technical Skills: Proficiency and independence in Canva, social media platforms and scheduling tools, email marketing platforms, Microsoft Office, and donor databases or CRM systems. Comfort with digital photography, basic video content, and graphic design is preferred.
Core Competencies: Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, excellent organization and follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously.
This position is primarily office based but requires regular activity throughout Foundation events, community meetings, and Alliance Healthcare Services locations.
