Job summary

Procter & Gamble is seeking a PhD intern to join the Grooming R&D team in Boston to develop structure–property relationships in polymeric blade coatings. You will learn from experienced professionals in a collaborative, supportive environment during a 12-week summer internship.

The ideal candidate is working toward a PhD, has strong communication skills, and can contribute to an internship from May/early June through August 2027, working in-office in South Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Working towards a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills.
• 12-week paid internship designed for summer 2027 in Boston, MA.
• Office-based at South Boston, MA with 3–5 days in office per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to relate material properties to product performance.
• Design and execute prototyping and characterization experiments.
• Perform synthesis, characterization, and structure–property modelling for polymeric blade coatings.
• Collaborate across internal and external teams in a multi-disciplinary setting.
