Big Science Sweden is seeking a part-time PhD Student to contribute to the research project on ultrafast ionization dynamics in relativistic laser plasmas at the HED instrument of the European XFEL. Responsibilities include conducting laser–XFEL experiments, analyzing experimental data, and presenting results at international venues. Ideal candidates should have a background in physics or related fields and be enrolled in a PhD program.
Qualifications
Enrollment in an accredited PhD program.
Experience with laser and X-ray instrumentation is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Carry out the PhD research project related to relativistic laser plasmas.
Prepare and conduct laser–XFEL experiments.
Analyze and interpret experimental data.
Job description
For our HED instrument we are looking for anPhD Student - part-time (29,25 hrs/week)
The Position
Carry out the PhD research project “Multidimensional mapping of ultrafast ionization dynamics in relativistic laser plasmas via resonant Xray probing” at the HED instrument of the European XFEL
Plan, prepare, and perform laser–XFEL pump–probe experiments with the high-intensity ReLaX laser system, including target design and diagnostic development.
Acquire, analyze, and interpret experimental data, combining X-ray resonant probing, interferometric imaging, and spectroscopy with theoretical models and simulation benchmarks
Present results at international conferences and workshops, and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Actively participate in the collaborative research environment at HED/EuXFEL, including interaction with external user groups and research consortia
