Position Title:
PhD Student Advisory Team Member – AI Research Assistant Development
Location:
Remote
The Vision:
At Orbis Scientia, we envision a world where scholarly exploration is no longer hindered by fragmentation, inefficiency, or information overload. We are redefining the research journey as a seamless, intelligent, and illuminating experience—one where human curiosity is amplified by AI, where theory is dynamically constructed from insight, and where every research question leads to meaningful contribution. Our mission is to empower researchers to navigate the vast world of knowledge with clarity, creativity, and precision, transforming exploration into contribution and advancing the future of academic discovery.
Project Overview of Orbis Scientia:
We are developing an innovative AI-driven research assistant designed to transform and modernize the academic research process. This next-generation tool is being built to support researchers through three core phases of scholarly investigation: (1) the development of unique research questions and hypotheses, (2) the execution of comprehensive and reproducible literature searches, and (3) the definition and completion of rigorous meta-analyses. Our aim is to shift the current research paradigm from fragmented, manual workflows to a seamless, intelligent, and project-centered approach.
Unlike existing AI tools such as Elicit, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, or Gemini—which operate primarily on a query-response model—our platform reconceptualizes academic inquiry as a dynamic and evolving project. Rather than serving as a passive answer generator, our AI system proactively stores, organizes, and updates results from thousands of AI and literature search queries in a dedicated project database. This persistent and cumulative model enables researchers to track, refine, and reanalyze findings as new information emerges, thus eliminating redundant effort and dramatically accelerating the research timeline.
By integrating cutting-edge AI technologies with robust data architecture (including MS SQL databases and APIs to major academic article repositories), we are building a unified research environment that brings automation, continuity, and intelligence to the entire research lifecycle. Researchers will no longer need to rely on scattered tools or manually recreate their analytic paths. Instead, they will gain access to a centralized platform that functions as a command center—intuitively guiding them from the generation of research ideas to the synthesis of knowledge.
This system is not just a tool—it is an intelligent infrastructure for accelerating discovery, improving transparency, and enhancing the scientific contribution of every research project.
Role Summary:
We are seeking current PhD students to join our Advisory Team. Members will provide strategic guidance, domain-specific insights, and academic rigor to ensure the tool aligns with the research community’s needs and standards.
