Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Research & Science Headhunter contractor to identify and engage PhD-level researchers for AI data projects. You will leverage academic networks, publication databases, and international sourcing to build a pipeline of top talent for our life-sciences and computational biology domains.

This is a remote, referral-based engagement with success fees per placement. You’ll operate with high discretion, manage candidate screening, and coordinate introductions to our project teams

Qualifications

• Proven experience in scientific or life-sciences recruiting and PhD-level talent sourcing.
• Expertise in Boolean sourcing, publication assessment, and leveraging academic networks.
• Strong knowledge of life sciences domains such as battery chemistry, computational biology, biostatistics.
• Track record of international sourcing for niche, hard-to-find scientific roles.
• Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to screen candidates for technical expertise and fit.
• High degree of professionalism, independence, and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage outstanding PhD-level researchers and scientists across the life sciences, computational biology, battery chemistry, and related domains
• Leverage academic networks and publication databases to source exceptional talent globally
• Screen and assess candidates’ scientific achievements, publication history, and suitability for project requirements
• Generate high-quality referrals and facilitate introductions to the customer's team for remote, part-time paid expert roles
• Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive candidate and client information
• Track, document, and report on sourcing and referral activity, sharing insights into talent market dynamics
• Operate independently, ensuring compliance with agreed processes and all relevant legal and ethical standards
