Job summary

The Clinical Scientist at Children's Hospital Colorado is responsible for the development of new assays, tests and kits. Works closely with laboratory leaders and consults with clinical and technical experts to identify unmet needs for new tests and improved methodology.

The PhD Lab Medicine II leads the planning and execution of experiments, analyzes data, mentors junior scientists, and engages in technology development to advance robust clinical grade applications for precision medicine.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) required.
• Area of Study: chemical, physical, biological or related science.
• Experience: Completion of a formal fellowship training program or 3 years of relevant laboratory experience at the PhD level.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise to programs, processes, and best practices; assists in training technical staff.
• Supports regulatory compliance for relevant area(s).
• Assesses market needs for tests; discusses potential new market areas with stakeholders.
• Supports customer service standards and collaborations to enhance revenue.
• Supports clinical research protocols and industry-sponsored clinical studies.
• Presents seminars; acts as interface between medical and technical staff.
• Analyzes raw data and assists in preparing reports for review.
• Reviews test results and interprets reports.
• May act as a variant analyst and leads new assay development under GLP in line with regulations.
• Works on complex projects and participates in budget and strategic planning.
• Participates in leadership activities and implements process improvements.
