Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics seeks to hire a faculty member who holds a doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in an applied area of psychology to join the Development, Behavior and Learning Program at the University of North Carolina. This faculty position will lead clinical consultation efforts with the pediatric and adolescent population in the outpatient setting. This position will work closely with the Division Chief as well as a team of developmental behavioral pediatricians, psychologists, nursing and social work staff. This position is an open-rank, fixed term faculty position appointed in the School of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in an applied area of psychology and be currently licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
The successful candidate should have expertise in the provision of psychological services for youth with or at-risk for autism spectrum disorder ( ASD ) and intellectual/developmental disabilities ( IDD ) and their families. Applicants must have broad clinical experience and expertise in assessment and consultation.
The applicant should have experience working in an interdisciplinary healthcare setting, preferably in an academic and/or medical setting, and a record of providing education/training opportunities at the university and in the community.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Two or more years of experience, including a post-doctoral fellowship, specializing in intellectual and developmental disabilities is strongly preferred. Experience with intervention services is preferred but not required. Experience within LEND and/or UCEDD programs is preferred as is prior teaching and supervision of graduate level students.
