Job summary

NVIDIA Research is seeking a networking-focused intern for the NVResearch team. You will contribute to the development of future high-performance networking and computing systems, with a balance of systems research and architecture knowledge.

This internship emphasizes long-horizon problems, with deliverables including prototypes, patents, and publications. You will engage in projects such as optimizing communication stacks for AI training and inference, co-designing AI systems, and exploring

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in CS, CE, EE, Physics, Math, or equivalent program.
• Relevant industry or university research experience in hardware, software, networking.
• Background in networking architectures, topologies, routing, and system design.
• Publications at top-tier conferences (ISCA, HPCA, NSDI, SIGCOMM, etc.), or on track toward them.
• Hands-on experience with simulation of networks and high-performance computing systems.
• Familiarity with inference and training systems for AI models and associated communication patterns.
• Excellent programming skills in Python, and C++ with parallel programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop algorithms and design hardware and software for computing and networking advancements.
• Invent techniques and deliver prototypes, patents, and publications.
• Contribute to research with long-horizon impact 5–10 years out.
• Projects may include optimizing communication stacks for AI training/inference, designing network protocols, and co-designing AI systems across software/hardware.
