Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for the Metallurgical & Corrosion Engineering Practice in Natick, MA. You will join a multidisciplinary team performing metallurgical, materials, corrosion, and mechanical failure analyses, supported by Exponent’s breadth of expertise across polymers, materials chemistry, electrical, and mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities include materials characterization, failure analysis, lab testing, and delivering client-ready reports.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt knowledge to new contexts and work outside core areas.

Responsibilities

  • Materials characterization and hands-on failure analysis.
  • Engineering and scientific analysis.
  • Laboratory testing and field inspections.
  • Communicating findings to clients with verbal, written, and/or presentation-style reports.
