Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a PhD student to develop and optimize semiconductor processes for current and future memory products. You will partner with cross-functional teams, perform root-cause analyses, and conduct fundamental research to advance next-generation memory technologies.

Data analysis and AI-based methods will support engineering decisions. The role emphasizes independent work, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and experience applying AI to technical problems.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Must be enrolled as a student and not graduate before September 2027.
  • Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and research methodologies.
  • Experience applying AI, leveraging AI, or data science techniques to analyze data and problems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize semiconductor processes meeting performance requirements.
  • Partner with multi-functional process and equipment teams to implement improvements.
  • Perform root-cause and failure-mode analyses to identify limitations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct fundamental research to support next-generation memory technologies and process innovations.
  • Analyze pilot manufacturing data using statistics and AI-enabled tools to support decision-making.
