Job summary

NERA, a premier economic consulting firm, seeks 2027 job market candidates with PhDs in economics or related fields and econometrics training to conduct high-level economic research for leading law firms, corporations, regulators and governments.

Consultants will apply graduate training to build economic and financial models, craft reports and presentations, influence project strategy, and manage client relationships across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or related field with econometrics training.
• Strong training in econometrics and quantitative methods.
• Preference for concentration in applied microeconomics, labor econ, IO, econometrics, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical skills and knowledge from graduate studies.
• Conduct high-powered economic research across industries.
• Develop economic and financial models to answer business questions.
• Perform cutting-edge economic analysis on complex real-life issues.
• Write research reports and client presentations for senior staff and clients.
• Influence project strategy, including preparation/presentation of testimony.
• Collaborate with in-house experts and outside academics.
• Manage client relationships.
• Develop and strengthen project and people management skills.
