Job summary

Dow Inc. offers digital internship opportunities for PhD scientists and engineers across North America, including Texas. You will join one of Dow’s core functions (R&D, ISC, M&E, IS, EHS&S) and tackle open-ended problems at the intersection of data science and materials science.

You will work with domain experts to accelerate digital evolution, improve manufacturing and formulation predictions, and advance software platforms while ensuring safety and sustainability are central to your work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or other related disciplines.
• Preferred GPA 3.00 (on a 4.0 scale).
• Must be eligible to comply with U.S. export control laws.
• Possession of a TWIC card may be required depending on final hiring location.

Responsibilities

• Solve diverse/open-ended problems to accelerate the digital evolution of Dow.
• Improve formulation property prediction and manufacturing process efficiency.
• Uplift R&D software to modern platforms and enable advanced planning & scheduling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of domain experts to deliver high-priority projects.
• Contribute to product, process research, safety, sustainability, and supply chain optimization.
