Job summary

Google is seeking a PhD Software Engineer to advance AI/ML research and apply it to scalable systems. You will design and build ML solutions across the stack, collaborating with teams across AI, Cloud, YouTube, Search, and Ads.

As a PhD graduate, your research expertise will drive innovative projects. You will contribute to architecture, model training, and deployment at massive scale, with opportunities to explore new problems and technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience coding in one of the following programming languages including but not limited to: Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript or Golang.
• Experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design, analysis, and development of advanced ML systems across the stack.
• Build end-to-end ML systems from hardware acceleration to production APIs.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and reliability in production ML workloads.
• Champion quality through well-tested code, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
