Job summary

Google is seeking a PhD Software Engineer to advance AI/ML systems at scale. You will collaborate across teams to design, implement, and optimize ML solutions, applying deep research expertise to production-ready products.

You will contribute to multiple product areas in AI, Infrastructure, Cloud, YouTube, Search and Ads, shaping innovations across a broad technology stack and interfaces.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS/AI/ML or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience coding in Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript or Golang.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate or lead on team projects to design, analyze, and develop advanced ML systems.
• Support building end-to-end ML systems across the stack from hardware to APIs.
• Optimize complex system performance and fix bottlenecks in production.
• Advocate for quality through well-tested code and code reviews.
