Job Summary
The PHC Technician is responsible for ensuring the health and aesthetic quality of all ornamental shrubs, trees, and turf through proper horticultural practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
- Plant and maintain plants, including removing weeds, fertilizing, watering shrubs and trees
- Use hand tools and gardening equipment
- Harvest, transplant, or pot plants with proper labels
- Monitor plant health for insects or diseases
- Operate tractors, machinery, and fertilizing equipment
- Cultivate, harvest, and spray fields and plants
- Inspect plants for quality
- Dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs
- Move containerized plants using wheelbarrows or tractors
- Maintain grounds and clean work areas
- Spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials
- Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and in compliance with regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of retail sales or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of experience with chemical or spray applications or 4+ years in the green industry
- Strong attention to detail
- Pesticide applicator license or in process
- Valid driver’s license
- Commitment to safety policies
Physical Requirements
- Constantly talk, hear, see, sit, stand, walk
- Good near, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Use hands to manipulate objects and tools
- Reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb, and maintain balance frequently
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and with mechanical objects
- Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, loud noise
