Job summary

HealthOp Solutions in Chandler, AZ, seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Phase 1 clinical research team. The role focuses on liver disease and hepatology, with a four-day workweek (Mon–Thu, 4/10s) and on-site patient care.

You will perform evaluations, pretreatment reviews, safety reviews, and manage patients through trial participation. A Sub-Investigator will require protocol knowledge, patient safety emphasis, and strong documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current and appropriate NP or PA certification.
• Active or eligible license to practice in Arizona.
• Nurse Practitioner candidates must maintain applicable RN and NP licensure and certification.
• Physician Assistant candidates must maintain applicable NCCPA certification.
• Previous clinical research experience with a strong understanding of research processes and protocols.
• At least 1 year of experience practicing as an NP or PA in a clinic or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations, consultations, and pretreatment reviews for standard-of-care and clinical research patients.
• Serve in a Sub-Investigator capacity and support the clinical execution of Phase 1 research protocols.
• Oversee appropriate aspects of clinical trial patient care and conduct medical and safety reviews.
• Diagnose conditions and make appropriate treatment decisions within established scope of practice.
• Educate patients regarding therapeutic options available through applicable liver clinical trials.
• Counsel patients and families and coordinate appropriate direct-care interventions with physicians.
• Serve as a primary clinical point of contact and assume responsibility for managing assigned patients.
• Collaborate with clinical research coordinators, recruiters, physicians, and other research personnel to complete study visits.
• Review study documentation, clinical charting, source documentation, and informed consent records for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned protocols and communicate study requirements to research team members.
