Job summary

Vantage Search Group seeks a Pharmacy Technician for placement at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas to support outpatient prescriptions, medication safety and patient assistance.

Responsibilities include dispensing, entering orders, assisting with physician requests, monitoring interactions, and quality/improvement tasks. Competitive compensation, benefits, CME stipend and a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid with the first paycheck.

Qualifications

• Formal Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the ASHP or a formal program (hospital, technical or retail) or a US Military training program.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent full-time post-grad experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures at Dyess AFB.
• Dispense and process outpatient prescriptions; enter orders into databases.
• Provide information to patients, support physicians and monitor drug interactions.
• Conduct quality improvement activities: storage inspections, review of expired supplies, and report generation.
• Handle supply processes: place orders, stock shelves, maintain inventory, generate not-in-stock reports.

Job description

We have a new need for a Pharmacy Technician at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas.

The duties for the employee are as follows but not limited to:

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician's requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm, to include a one-hour lunch break

No Weekends, No Holidays

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Formal Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 1 year of recent full-time post-grad experience as an Pharmacy Technician

Certification: Certified by the

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Life Support Certification:

Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Security:

Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
