Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a pharmacy technician trainee to learn under the supervision of pharmacists and staff in a hospital setting. You’ll assist in preparing, stocking, and distributing medications, fill prescription orders, and help maintain inventory while supporting administrative tasks.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and state licensure/registration requirements for IL or WI applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• IL license required; WI registration required.

Responsibilities

• Learn under supervision of pharmacists to assist in preparing, stocking and distributing medications.
• Fill prescription/medication orders and maintain pharmacy inventory.
• Handle administrative tasks including records, billing and insurance documentation.
• Respond to patient and provider inquiries and refer to the Pharmacist.
• Maintain compliance with rules and keep a clean, safe pharmacy environment.
• Triage phone calls and take detailed messages.
• Learn equipment and technology functionality in the department.
• Demonstrate professionalism in behavior, appearance and interactions.
