Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee PRN to ensure high-quality, efficient care for all patients. If you believe in patient care as much as we do, we want you to apply!

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is responsible for accurately performing all basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Identifies critical issues, prioritizes workload, and communicates issues promptly.
  • Completes all education requirements and maintains competency.
  • Interacts politely and appropriately with hospital personnel in person and by phone.
  • Maintains required documentation logs accurately.
  • Complies with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains medication storage and security per regulatory standards.
  • Performs quality control and performance improvement functions as assigned.
  • Conducts monthly medication storage area inspections accurately.
  • Performs basic billing functions and completes OR charges timely.
  • Performs required calculations accurately.
  • Compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures safely, using aseptic techniques.
  • Follows USP 797 standards, including cleaning and PPE usage.
  • Obtains pharmacist’s final check before releasing compounded medications.
  • Prepares work records, manages medication orders, and processes reports efficiently.
  • Transports medications and supplies timely and accurately.
  • Fills pharmacy orders, manages medication returns, and supports automated dispensing systems.
  • Performs daily ADC routines and replenishes stock as needed.
  • Packages medications for dispensing and notifies inventory managers of reordering needs.
  • Monitors outdates and manages medication supply appropriately.
  • Performs receiving, checking, and reporting of medication orders.
Qualifications Needed:
  • State Registration Pharmacy Technician must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.
