Job summary

Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program is offering a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician Trainee position in Boston. This training role leads to becoming a licensed Pharmacy Technician after completing the Massachusetts Board-approved assessment following 500 hours of trainee employment.

Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists, stocking and labeling medications, and interacting with patients to answer questions. Starting wage is $22.80/hour with per diem as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• State licensure/registration.
• Experience managing multiple priorities with strong prioritization skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacy services by stocking, preparing and distributing medications.
• Greet patients professionally, answer questions and refer inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, place orders, verify receipt, and separate 340B inventories as applicable.
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Prepare medications for pharmacists to dispense by interpreting orders, preparing labels, and calculating quantities.
