As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you’ll be a key part of our collaborative team. Job Description
- Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
- Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or Licensing Preferred: Pharmacy Certification
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and acknowledge them with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
- Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging, and meeting or exceeding patient needs, including processing orders in person and by phone, directing patients to products, and referring questions about prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines to the pharmacist.
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
- Assist team members with tasks to ensure efficient department operations.
- Use the pharmacy computer system to perform necessary actions, such as searching for patient profiles, determining prescription fill and pick-up dates, checking on-hand medication counts, and entering invoices, to maximize efficiency and patient care.
- Contribute to team efforts to improve outcomes using relevant service and business metrics.
- Assist in executing company initiatives and programs.
- Complete required training programs and exams.
- Follow all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine sales laws.
- Process sales accurately using the cash register according to established procedures and policies.
- Transcribe prescription data accurately to generate customer labels.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications and supplies per company policies.
- Answer telephone inquiries politely and promptly, ensuring accurate information exchange and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer questions and concerns effectively through communication with customers, management, and support staff.
- File written prescriptions daily.
