Introduction

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will be under the supervision of the pharmacy department director, managers, preceptors, and program instructors. You will complete the Pharmacy Technician Training Program to qualify for the Board of Pharmacy registration and become a registered pharmacy technician. Responsibilities include processing, compounding, and preparing medications, filling drug requisitions, repackaging medications, conducting patient billing, restocking supplies, and assisting in medication delivery to patient care areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist in dispensing doses following department guidelines
• Record drugs that need reordering
• Demonstrate accuracy in filling initial orders
• Deliver stat medication orders as needed
• Makes rounds in a timely manner

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old by the end of the training program
• Meet Board of Pharmacy requirements to register as a pharmacy technician
