Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician prepares sterile IV medications in a 503A facility under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Schedule is Monday–Friday, with alternating weekends, and salary range listed in the posting.

Qualifications

• Requires working knowledge of sterile compounding and pharmaceutical QA testing processes.
• Licensure as a Florida Pharmacy Technician is required.
• cGMP training and aseptic processing training are desirable and will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique under supervision.
• Assists in setup of the compounding room, equipment and supplies.
• Maintains cleanroom and follows CAPS policies and procedures.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance of the workspace.
• Supports pharmaceutical quality assurance testing and recordkeeping.

Position Summary

Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the preparation of sterile IV medications in a 503A compounding pharmacy under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

Required

• REQUIRED: Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Florida Board of Pharmacy
• Preferred: National Pharmacy Certification through PTCB or NHA ExCPT
• High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required.
• cGMP training/experience desired, training will be provided
• Aseptic processing training/experience desired, training will be provided.
• Schedule is (8:30am to 5pm) Monday-Friday plus alternating weekends. Holidays/overtime as needed
• Salary range is $18.54 - $24.50

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
