Job summary

Montefiore Health System in New York seeks a certified Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy operations. Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist in receiving drugs, filling orders, preparing unit dose cassettes, and supporting sterile product preparation with accuracy and attention to safety.

You will maintain inventory, document movements, and ensure proper labeling and patient confidentiality while providing courteous service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license and registration.
• Valid PCTB Certification.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practices.
• MS Windows or related pharmacy computer system literacy.

Responsibilities

• Fills unit dose medication cassettes with zero error using fill lists and census data.
• Updates and backfills patient medication cassettes accurately.
• Label medications and cassettes clearly with patient name and details.
• Exchange and deliver medication cassettes per schedule and procedure.
• Return unused medications to stock and maintain organized work areas.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, tracking, and documentation for audits and compliance.
• Assist with filling ambulatory prescriptions and entering patient information into the computer.
• Submit claims and verify payments with PBMs; ensure patient confidentiality and friendly service.
