Job summary

Montefiore New Rochelle is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist per diem to assist in packaging, manufacturing, and distribution of drugs and supplies under the supervision of a pharmacist. The role supports ambulatory and inpatient operations, with emphasis on accuracy, inventory control, and patient safety.

Responsibilities include filling unit dose cassettes, backfilling inventories, labeling with patient details, and assisting with ambulatory prescriptions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license and registration is required.
• Valid PCTB Certification is required.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practices and procedures.
• MS Windows environment or other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies under supervision.
• Fill unit dose medication cassettes using fill lists and census reports.
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper security, storage and dating of drugs.
• Prepare sterile IV medications using aseptic techniques and label accurately.
• Assist pharmacist with filling ambulatory prescriptions and entering patient information.
