  • Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of hire or Pharmacist Student Certificate (NHA/PTCB)
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Applies 340B program knowledge to support audits, purchasing and replenishment tracking.
  • Assists pharmacists in accurately filling and dispensing prescriptions or medication orders.
  • Collaborates with pharmacy leadership to improve workflow, compliance and automation strategy.
  • Compounds medications for specialty and oncology infusion following safety protocols.
  • Ensures proper labeling, documentation and tracking of all medications dispensed or prepared.
  • Handles hazardous drugs safely per USP <800> with appropriate PPE and equipment.
  • Maintains HIPAA/DEA compliance and institutional policies.
  • Operates and troubleshoots automated dispensing cabinets and pharmacy technology.
  • Participates in drug diversion prevention, including monitoring and documentation.
  • Performs cleaning and environmental monitoring for sterile compounding areas.
  • Prepares non-sterile and sterile compounded medications under supervision.

Job Description

This Pharmacy Technician Specialty is responsible for investigating and identifying potential pharmacy diversion related to controlled substances or 340b acquisitions.

Required: High School, IL Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of hire, Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of hire

Pay: based on experience, starting at $18.68/hour

Responsibilities
  • Applies 340B program knowledge to support audits, purchasing and replenishment tracking.
  • Assists pharmacists in accurately filling and dispensing prescriptions or medication orders.
  • Collaborates with pharmacy leadership to improve workflow, compliance and automation strategy.

  • Receives, stores and manages medication inventory; checks for expired or recalled products.
  • Reviews medication coding, billing and reimbursement for accuracy and compliance.
  • Supports EMR medication build, including updates and testing of order sets or CPOE tools.
Requirements
  • High School (Required)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (within 2 years of license) or Pharmacist Student Certificate - National Healthcareer Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (within 60 days of hire) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Compensation

Estimated Compensation Range $18.68 - $28.95
