Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist supports various pharmacy operations, including prescription order entry, claim adjudication, medication preparation and dispensing, medication distribution, non-sterile and sterile compounding, inventory management, and the use of automated pharmacy devices and equipment. This role also involves handling controlled substances, patient communication, and maintaining assigned areas. The Pharmacy Technician Specialist assesses the age-specific needs of patients and ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital, as well as state and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School or General Equivalency (GED) Diploma.
  2. Registered Professional Adjust-License/Registration - Issued by Florida or a Compact State.
  3. Certification or completion of a professionally recognized training program in a related specialty area.
  4. Minimum of three years of experience in a relevant practice setting.
  5. Proficiency in the systems and tools commonly used in the practice setting.
