Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations in our Downers Grove site. You will perform area-specific tasks, assist licensed pharmacists, and ensure accurate record-keeping and patient communications.

The role requires 1–3 years in healthcare or pharmacy, state licensure, and certification (CPhT or ExCPT). You should have strong math, confidentiality, and MS Office skills, plus the ability to travel between pharmacy locations if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience in health care, insurance, pharmacy, or medical background.
• Registration/licensure with state board of pharmacy required; CPhT or ExCPT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete area-specific work per standard procedures and policies.
• Serve as expert with equipment and technology in specialized area.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the specialized area as they arise.
• Ensure documents and records are accurate and timely.
• Support communication between patients and care team.
• Identify quality improvement opportunities for safe, effective patient care.
• Assist with operational changes and standardization.
• Participate in site or system specialized work teams as applicable.
• Comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Stay current with changes in the specialized field and collaborate with leadership to adopt best practices.
• Maintain knowledge and skills and contribute to education of others.
